RADNOR, Pa. – Diane Humes Green has been named the head men and women’s swimming coach at Cabrini College, Director of Athletics & Recreation Joe Giunta announced today. Humes Green boasts more than 15 years of coaching experience from the beginner to national and collegiate levels.
“Diane’s coaching experience and knowledge of the local swimming landscapes make her a perfect fit for the head men and women’s swimming position at Cabrini,” Giunta said. “We look forward to Diane continuing to grow our men and women’s swimming programs.”
Humes Green has served as assistant head swim coach, and assistant swimming and diving coach at the Ridley YMCA since 1996. She has played an integral role in building the diving program into one of the top programs in Delaware County. Humes Green is responsible for planning practice plans, maintaining proper techniques and recruiting.
“I am excited and honored to accept the head men and women’s swimming coach position at Cabrini,” Humes Green said. “The program has improved greatly over the past several years, and I look forward to upholding the standard of success and coaching some of the best swimmers in the area. I welcome the opportunity to take the program to the next level, recruit talented local swimmers and build an All-American program.”
Humes Green is being elevated to head coach at Cabrini after two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cavaliers. She has also served as head girls’ swimming and diving coach at Springfield (Delco) High School since 2009.
Green earned a full scholarship for swimming at the University of Maryland. She is a two-time national champion at the Junior and Senior levels in the butterfly. Humes Green’s 200m butterfly time in 1984 qualified for the Olympic trials.
