ASTON, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper Bryan Johnson has been named the 2009-10 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced today. Johnsonhelped Cabrini to its second straight CSAC title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009.
Johnson started each of the Cavaliers 22 games last season, notching a 16-4-2 overall record and seven shutouts. He totaled a 0.90 goals-against average and .802 save percentage.
Johnson is a two-time All-CSAC performer, earning first-team accolades in 2009 and second-team distinction in 2007. He is also a two-time CSAC Player of the Week selection.
Johnson concluded his Cavaliers tenure with a 38-12-4 career record, posting a 0.96 goals-against average and .814 save percentage. He owns 16 career shutouts and recorded 223 saves in three seasons.
Johnson is a three-time Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team selection and CSAC All-Academic performer. In 2009-10, he received Cabrini’s Girard-Goodwin Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, given to one graduating senior with the highest cumulative grade point average.
Johnson completed his undergraduate degree in exercise science & health promotion in May 2010.
