The Cavaliers captured their 10th Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) crown in program history with a 24-12 win versus Gwynedd-Mercy College in the title tilt on May 8. Head coach Jackie Neary, in her 14th season at Cabrini, has been at the helm of each of the team’s 10 championship runs.
Senior attack Erin Nollen was named the title game’s most valuable player, posting 10 points with six goals and four assists. Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz totaled seven points versus the Griffins, pairing three goals with four assists.
Junior attack Jamie O’Hanlon notched six points with four goals, including the 100th of her Cabrini career, and two assists. Freshman attack Christina Pasquariello tallied five points on three scores and two helpers.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid recorded four saves. The Cavaliers improved to 11-0 when winning more draw controls than their opponent.
Cabrini and The College of New Jersey met once prior this season. The Lions, then ranked No. 5 nationally, earned a 19-1 victory versus the Cavaliers at Edith Robb Dixon Field on March 18.
TCNJ (14-3) opened the 2010 season with 10 straight wins. However, the Lions enter the NCAA Tournament looking to snap a two-game skid versus Stevens Institute of Technology and SUNY-Cortland.
Junior midfielder Ali Jaeger is tops on TCNJ with 97 points on 75 goals and 22 assists. Sophomore midfielder Leigh Mitchell ranks second on the team with 84 points, pairing 48 goals with 36 assists.
Junior goalkeeper Mary Waller has started all 17 games in between the pipes for the Lions, owning a 7.54 goals-against average and .430 save percentage.
