NEW YORK -
Freshman Danica Giddens competed Friday in the elite-level New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the NYC Armory. It marked Giddens’ second appearance of the season at the world-renown indoor facility.

Giddens clocked a time of 8.01 seconds Friday, finishing 37th overall. She qualified for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational with a ninth-place finish and time of 7.95 seconds in her last appearance at the NYC Armory in the NYC Gotham Cup Jan. 15.

Giddens also competed in the 200m dash, listing 71st overall with a time of 27.15 seconds. That is her second-best time of the season in the event, following a 27.03-second performance at the Ursinus College Winter Invitational Dec. 5.

Giddens was the lone Cavalier to qualify for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The Cabrini men and women’s track & field teams were scheduled to compete today at the Ursinus Colden Invitational. However, that meet was cancelled due to weather concerns.

The Cabrini men and women’s track & field teams are scheduled to return to the oval Friday, Feb. 12 for the Lafayette University/Rider University Winter Games at the NYC Armory.
