NACDA President's Cup Standings

WESTLAKE, Ohio –
As a result of the Fall 2009 seasons, Cabrini ranks tied for 43rd nationally in the latest release of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) 2009-10 Division III Learfield Sports Director’s Cup standings. The Cavaliers advanced four teams in the 2009 NCAA Tournament in November.

The Cabrini field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball teams each captured the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) title at the league’s inaugural fall championship festival hosted by Immaculata University Saturday, Nov. 7.

For the Cavalier field hockey and volleyball teams, it was the programs’ first appearances all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The men’s soccer team made its second straight appearance and third overall. The Cabrini women’s soccer team played in its second national tournament and first since the 2003 season.

Cabrini has totaled 100.00 points to-date in the latest Division III standings, receiving 25.0 points each for the four CSAC championship victories. Hobart and William Smith (N.Y.) Colleges, Macalester (Minn.) College, Maryville (Tenn.) College and Wisconsin – La Crosse have also earned 100.00 points.

Williams (Mass.) College sits atop the standings with 367.00 total points. Calvin (Mich.) College (349.00) and Washington (Mo.) University (319.00) rank second and third, respectively.

The Learfield Sports Director's Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports - nine men's and nine women's. The first Division III winter standings will be released March 18, 2010.
