LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cabrini men’s basketball team remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play through 10 games and is riding a season-best nine-game win streak following a 73-53 victory at Philadelphia Biblical University Monday. The Cavaliers’ offense scored four players in double digits for the fifth time in 2009-10.
Sophomore forward Brandon Carter led the Cabrini attack with 13 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field overall. Carter grabbed five rebounds and shot 5-for-6 from the foul line.
Freshman combo guard A.J. Williams tallied a career-best 11 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from the floor. Williams added three rebounds in 18 minutes played off the bench.
Senior forward Kevin Misevicius and junior forward Dom Farrello each scored 10 points. Misevicius has scored in double figures 43 times in 46 career games at Cabrini. He and Farrello charged the Cavaliers on the glass, notching nine and five rebounds, respectively.
Freshman point guard Cory Lemons coupled seven points with seven rebounds and five assists. Sophomore guard Greg Zabel and freshman center Goran Dulac each chipped in six points.
The Blue & White led Philadelphia Biblical 44-16 at halftime behind a 46.9 percent shooting clip. Cabrini’s 28-point advantage at the intermission was a season high.
The Cavaliers closed out the first half on a 21-3 run over the final 7:50. Misevicius sparked the charge with a triple off a feed from Williams. Carter closed out the spurt with two jump-shots.
Philadelphia Biblical struggled from the field in the opening half, shooting just 24.1 percent from the floor overall and 0-for-5 from long range. The Crimson Eagles rebounded to shoot 40.0 percent in the second half, but could only pull within 14 points down the stretch.
PBU junior forward Charles Kennedy scored a team-high 12 points and notched seven rebounds in the loss. Sophomore center Nate Schrader paired nine points with seven boards.
The Cavaliers out-scored the Crimson Eagles off turnovers, 19-12, and in bench points, 27-22.
Cabrini (15-1, 10-0) remains on the road for a date with backyard-rival Eastern University Wednesday, Jan. 27. Game time against the Eagles is set for 7 p.m.
