Reimer Named Academic All-Area Performer of the Year
Senior Scott Reimer, a USILA Scholar All-American, is the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Senior Scott Reimer has been named the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men’s Lacrosse Performer of the Year. Reimer is one of 12 student-athletes selected to the academic all-area team. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Reimer concludes his career at Cabrini as the program’s all-time leader in points (256) and assists (233). He also owns the Cavaliers’ single-season mark for goals scored, depositing a nation’s best 69 this season. After leading the country with 68 goals in 2008, Reimer becomes the first Division III player since 1996 to lead the nation in goals scored in consecutive seasons.

Reimer received United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-America distinction for the second straight year in 2009. He is a three-time Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) First Team honoree.

Reimer adds the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year laurel to a laundry list of academic successes while at Cabrini. In 2009, he was named a USILA Scholar All-American and honored as the PhillyLacrosse.com Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Reimer earns his second academic all-area selection and is a three-time CSAC Academic All-Conference honoree. He completed his undergraduate degree in human resource management and graduated May 17.

Reimer is joined on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team by Colin Ambler of Drexel, Haverford’s Matt Dooley, Eric Farris from Ursinus, Chris Ficke and Brian Karalunas of Villanova, Neumann’s Kyle Gardner, Ben O’Donnell from Eastern, Widener’s Matt Parrot and Nick Politarhos, Andrew Sim from Immaculata and Peter Slowik of Saint Joseph’s.
