Golf
The Cabrini golf team will return to the fairways for the NCAA Tournament, hosted by Methodist University at the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla. from May 13 – May 16. The Cavaliers advanced to their second national championship in two seasons after winning their second consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) title at Broad Run Golfer’s Club April 26.

Men’s Lacrosse (14-3)
The Cabrini men’s lacrosse team punched its ticket to its eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament with a 22-8 victory against Marywood University in the CSAC championship May 2. The Cavaliers have claimed nine straight CSAC titles and are unbeaten in their last 88 games versus conference opponents. Senior midfielder Matt Conaway was named the game’s most valuable player, totaling six points on five goals and one assist. Cabrini will host an opening round game in the NCAA Tournament versus Montclair State Wednesday, May 6. Game time is to be announced.

Women’s Lacrosse (12-4)
The Cabrini women’s lacrosse team won its first CSAC title since the 2005 season with a 20-9 win at top seed Gwynedd-Mercy College May 2. The Cavaliers have won nine conference championships, dating back to the 1998 campaign. Sophomore defender Courtney Davis was named to the final’s most valuable player, tallying six groundballs and five draw controls. Cabrini will make its sixth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament Wednesday, May 6 at Roanoke College. Game time is to be announced.

Softball (16-19)
The Cabrini softball team saw its 2009 season come to a close with a 6-4 loss versus Immaculata University in the quarterfinal round of the CSAC Tournament. Freshman SS Sammy Thompson notched two runs scored in the loss. The Cavaliers returned to the postseason for the first time since 2007 and finished the year with 16 overall wins, four more than the 2008 campaign.

Men’s Tennis (7-7)
The Cabrini men’s tennis team saw five of its six players advance to the final match of singles play at the CSAC Individual Championships April 27. Senior Justin Walsh emerged victorious, claiming the title at the No. 2 position against conference player of the year Chris Brown from Neumann College.

Men/Women’s Track & Field
A messy and rain-soaked weekend kept the Cabrini men and women’s outdoor track & field teams out of action over the weekend. The Cavaliers return to the oval Saturday, May 9 at the Randall’s Island Sports Foundation meet in New York, N.Y.
