WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Cabrini men's tennis team began its preparation for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Individual Championships with a 7-2 win against Division II West Chester University Friday.
Senior
Justin Walsh posted his eighth straight win and improved his singles record to 12-1 overall with a 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) marathon victory at the No. 2 position against John Howanski.
Sophomore
Mingkuang Luo picked up his eighth singles win of the season, downing Matt Thomas in the No. 1 spot. Sophomore
Michael Sim earned his sixth victory of the year, dropping Michael Ensor at the No. 3 position.
Freshman
Brendon Hajas captured the Cavaliers' fourth singles win of the afternoon, and his sixth of the season, with a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 triumph against William Ensor in the No. 5 hole.
The Blue & White swept doubles play. Walsh and Luo totaled an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 position in doubles, winning their seventh match of the season.
Sim and sophomore
John Van Wagner earned an 8-6 win at the No. 2 spot and Hajas and freshman
Walter Jesuncosky collected an 8-5 victory in the No. 3 position.
Cabrini resumes its postseason schedule Sunday, April 26 at Gwynedd-Mercy College at 10 a.m. in the CSAC Individual Championships. Day two is scheduled for Monday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
