Cabrini led at halftime, 38-26, improving its record to 17-0 when ahead at the intermission this season. The Cavaliers paced the Lions by as much as 15 points in the opening frame after Washington dropped in a three-point field and was fouled at the 3:30 mark. Washington converted the four-point play, increasing Cabrini’s cushion to 36-21.

Penn State – Altoona opened the second half energized and trimmed the Cabrini advantage to two points, 53-51, following a 10-2 run. Forward Herschell Warren lay-in at the 10:34 mark pulled the Lions to within one field goal.

However, the Cavaliers responded with a 17-6 run that pushed its lead back to 15 points, 72-57, with 4:56 on the clock. Cabrini’s advantage twice reached 16 points in the final five minutes.

Guard Travis White’s lay-in and-one free throw with 49 seconds remaining cut the Lions’ deficit to seven points, 80-73, but Penn State – Altoona would come no closer.

The win pulls Cabrini head coach Marcus Kahn to within just two victories of the century mark. Kahn boasts a 98-90 career record in seven seasons as a sideline mentor.
