The Cabrini men's basketball team ended the 2009 calendar year with a 71-58 win against Haverford College Friday.

RADNOR, Pa. - The Cavalier Recap will appear on CabriniAthletics.com weekly, retelling the tales of the week that was in Cabrini Athletics. Today’s recap details the week of Monday, December 14 to Sunday, December 20.

Men’s Basketball (7-1, 3-0)
The Cabrini men’s basketball team had its program-record six-game win streak to open the 2009-10 season snapped Tuesday in a 73-61 loss at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Junior forward Dom Farrello tallied a season-high 21 points in the setback. The Cavaliers rebounded with a 71-58 victory at home against Haverford College Friday. Senior forward Kevin Misevicius scored a game-high 20 points. Misevicius has scored in double figures 36 times in 38 career games played at Cabrini. The Blue & White returns to the hardwood in 2010 at home against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Keystone College Monday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.

Women’s Basketball (3-4, 2-0)
The Cabrini women’s basketball team is back in action Saturday, Jan. 2 against Manhattanville College at the two-day Juniata College Tournament. Game time against Manhattanville is set for 8 p.m.

Men/Women’s Swimming
The Cabrini men and women’s swimming teams wrapped up the Fall semester with a week-long training trip in Islamorado, Fla. The Cavaliers competed in an exhibition meet against Drexel University and Olivet College. Sophomore MacKenzie Stewart finished first in the 100yd breaststroke (1:16.54) and second in the 50yd breaststroke (34.03). The Cabrini men and women’s swimming teams return to the water Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Dixon Center Pool versus Ocean County College. Meet time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The Cabrini men and women’s track & field teams resume their indoor schedules Friday, Jan. 8 in the Metropolitan Coaches College Invitational at the NYC Armory.

Athlete of the Week
Kevin Misevicius
Basketball (Men)

Senior forward Kevin Misevicius scored a team-high 20 points in the Cavaliers’ NCAA Tournament First Round loss against No. 16 Randolph-Macon College at Albright College’s George C. Bollman Center.

Misevicius shot 8-for-17 from the field overall and knocked down 4-of-8 3-point attempts. He also grabbed four rebounds and swiped three steals. Misevicius reached the 20-point pleateau for the 30th time in two seasons at Cabrini.

Misevicius concludes his Cavaliers’ career listing ninth all-time on the program’s scoring list with 1,123 points. He ranks sixth all-time in blocked shots (73) and seventh in steals (155).

Misevicius is the only player in program history to twice eclipse the 500-point barrier in a single season. He also owns the team’s second and third best single-season steals performances, swiping 84 in 2008-09 and 71 in 2009-10.
