CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior midfielder Brian Raffle and junior back Troy Allen have been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Second Team All-Stars, the league announced Wednesday. In 2009, the Cabrini men’s soccer team claimed its second straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) title and played in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
Raffle led the Cavaliers’ offense with 27 points on 13 goals and one assist en route to CSAC First Team honors. He was twice named the conference’s player of the week. A transfer to Cabrini after three seasons at rival Eastern University, Raffle recorded at least two points in a game 11 times in 2009. He concluded his collegiate career with 72 career points on 33 goals and six assists.
Allen claimed his second consecutive CSAC First Team nod. He listed second on the team with 16 points on five goals and six assists. An integral piece of the Cavaliers’ defense, Allen aided in posting 11 total shutouts this season.
Cabrini finished the 2009 campaign with a 16-4-2 overall record, reaching the 15-win plateau for the third straight season. Eight Cavaliers received all-conference honors, including six first-team selections.
