Men, Women's Swimming Compete in Exhbition Meet During Florida Training Trip

ISLAMORADA, Fla. –
The Cabrini men and women’s swimming teams are enjoying their break between the Fall and Spring semesters through a training trip in the Sunshine State. The Cavaliers competed in an exhibition meet Thursday versus Drexel University and Olivet College.

Sophomore MacKenzie Stewart led the Cabrini women’s efforts, finishing first in the 100yd breaststroke (1:16.54) and second in the 50yd breaststroke (34.03).

Senior Andrea Carabello posted a pair of second-place finishes in the 100yd backstroke (1:08.08) and 100yd freestyle (57.52).  The Cavaliers ‘B' 200yd freestyle relay team, including junior Katie Bonanni, junior Lisa Somers, freshman Taylor Bonanni and freshman Ali Van Schaack, placed third (1:55.11).

Junior Kyle Teliszewski paced the Cabrini men’s team, touching the wall second in the 50yd freestyle (22.96) and third in the 100yd freestyle (51.02).

Junior Bill Boylan finished less than one second faster than Teliszewski in the 100yd freestyle (50.84), placing second. He also finished fourth in the 50yd breaststroke (30.22).

The Cabrini men and women’s swimming teams are back in the water Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Dixon Center Pool versus Ocean County College. Meet time is 10:30 a.m.

Kevin Misevicius
Basketball (Men)

Senior forward Kevin Misevicius scored a team-high 20 points in the Cavaliers’ NCAA Tournament First Round loss against No. 16 Randolph-Macon College at Albright College’s George C. Bollman Center.

Misevicius shot 8-for-17 from the field overall and knocked down 4-of-8 3-point attempts. He also grabbed four rebounds and swiped three steals. Misevicius reached the 20-point pleateau for the 30th time in two seasons at Cabrini.

Misevicius concludes his Cavaliers’ career listing ninth all-time on the program’s scoring list with 1,123 points. He ranks sixth all-time in blocked shots (73) and seventh in steals (155).

Misevicius is the only player in program history to twice eclipse the 500-point barrier in a single season. He also owns the team’s second and third best single-season steals performances, swiping 84 in 2008-09 and 71 in 2009-10.
