RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men’s basketball team will play its final game of the 2009 calendar year Friday, Dec. 18 at Nerney Field House versus local opponent Haverford College. Game time against the Fords is set for 6 p.m.

The Cavaliers had their program-record six-game win streak to begin the 2009-10 season snapped in a 73-61 loss at Landmark Conference foe U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Tuesday. Junior forward Dom Farrello scored a season-high 21 points in the loss.
Freshman point guard Cory Lemons tallied 13 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Kevin Misevicius notched 10 points, claimed five boards and blocked three shots. Dating back to the start of the 2008-09 season, Misevicius has scored in double figures 35 times in 37 career games played with the Cavaliers.
Freshman combo guard A.J. Williams made his first career start and totaled seven points.
Against the Mariners, Cabrini shot just 36.0 percent from the floor in the first half and trailed at the intermission, 35-25, for the first time all season. In the opening 20 minutes, USMMA scored 18 points in the paint versus six from the Cavaliers.
The Blue & White pulled to within six points five times in the second half. Cabrini trailed by four points, 61-57, with 1:35 remaining. However, USMMA senior guard Ryan Samuel drained 6-of-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Samuel scored a game-high 21 points in the win for the Mariners. Sophomore guard Jon Snead added 11 points.
Despite being separated by only 15 minutes and slightly more than six miles, the Cavaliers and Fords will play each other for the first time in the two progams’ histories Friday night.
Haverford (3-4) will take the floor against Cabrini for the first time in nine days. The Fords are coming off a 72-58 loss at Centennial Conference opponent Ursinus College Dec. 9.
Freshman guard Cameron Baker leads three Fords in double figures, averaging 13.7 points per game. Junior forward Sam Permutt (13.0) and sophomore forward Bo Fridell (11.4) round out Haverford’s top three scorers.
Permutt (7.9) and Edelman (7.1) lead the Fords’ charge on the glass. Baker (.350) and senior guard Matt Palmer (.321) have proven to be Haverford’s most consistent long-range weapons.
