Volleyball Travels to No. 2 Juniata College for First Round NCAA Tournament Match

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
The Cabrini volleyball team opens its first NCAA Tournament in program history as part of an eight-team regional at No. 2 Juniata College Thursday, November 12. Match time is set for 8 p.m. in Memorial Gymnasium at the Kennedy Sports & Recreation Center.

The No. 1 seed Cavaliers clinched their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) crown in program history with a 3-0 sweep versus No. 3 seed Philadelphia Biblical University Saturday at Immaculata University as part of the conference's Fall Festival.

Senior setter Lizzie Williams was named the contest's most valuable player, tallying a match-best 29 assists and adding eight kills. Freshman opposite Megan Ryan fueled the Cavaliers' attack with a team-high 11 kills against the Crimson Eagles.

Junior middle Stephanie Recklau posted nine kills and senior outside hitter Traci Beltz notched six. Defensively, sophomore libero Courtney Abel recorded a match-best 22 digs.

Juniata (31-3) has won 19 of its last 20 matches, including a 3-0 victory versus Susquehanna University in the Landmark Conference championship tilt. The Eagles have won 29 consecutive conference crowns and have not lost a match against a league opponent in their last 315 outings.

Juniata is the site for one of the NCAA Tournament's eight regional sites. Also joining Cabrini at Juniata is local opponents Eastern University and Haverford College, Frostburg State University, Richard Stockton College, Mount Union College and Lebanon Valley College.

The regional semifinals will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship match is set for 7 p.m.

Kevin Misevicius
Basketball (Men)

Senior forward Kevin Misevicius scored a team-high 20 points in the Cavaliers’ NCAA Tournament First Round loss against No. 16 Randolph-Macon College at Albright College’s George C. Bollman Center.

Misevicius shot 8-for-17 from the field overall and knocked down 4-of-8 3-point attempts. He also grabbed four rebounds and swiped three steals. Misevicius reached the 20-point pleateau for the 30th time in two seasons at Cabrini.

Misevicius concludes his Cavaliers’ career listing ninth all-time on the program’s scoring list with 1,123 points. He ranks sixth all-time in blocked shots (73) and seventh in steals (155).

Misevicius is the only player in program history to twice eclipse the 500-point barrier in a single season. He also owns the team’s second and third best single-season steals performances, swiping 84 in 2008-09 and 71 in 2009-10.
