RADNOR, Pa. – Junior back Allie Rodolico has been named to the WomensFieldHockey.com Honor Roll, the web site announced late Wednesday night. The Cabrini field hockey team’s 2009 season concluded Wednesday following a 1-0 loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at No. 11 Christopher Newport University.
Rodolico helped the Cavaliers reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, earning most valuable player honors in a 2-1 victory versus Neumann University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship match. Anchored by Rodolico, the Cavaliers’ defense limited the Knights’ offense to just two shots in the second half.
Rodolico is the second member of the Blue & White to be honored by WomensFieldHockey.com this season, joining junior goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue. Donahue was named to the web site’s honor roll October 27.
The Cabrini field hockey team finished the 2009 season with an 11-11 overall record. Head coach Jackie Neary concluded her 14th season with the Cavaliers with 143 career victories.
