Volleyball to Play for ECAC Crown Sunday
The Cabrini volleyball will meet Penn State - Behrend Sunday at 1 p.m. for the ECAC title.

STEVENSON, Md. –
The fourth-seeded Cabrini volleyball team knocked off top-seeded Stevenson University Saturday, 3-0, in the semifinal round of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament. The Cavaliers will meet Penn State – Behrend Sunday at Stevenson's Student Union Gymnasium. Match time is set for 1 p.m.

The win is the Cavaliers 22nd overall this season and avenges a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Mustangs September 21 as part of the Baruch College Tournament. Cabrini has tallied 15 three-set victories in 2008.

Junior setter Lizzie Williams paced the Cavaliers offense with a team-best 26 assists. She added eight digs and three service aces.

Senior middle Kate Fetterman powered the Cabrini offense with a club-leading eight kills. Rookie outside hitter Alexis Doss and senior outside hitter Lindsay Martin notched seven and six kills, respectively.

Sophomore Stephanie Recklau led the Cavaliers’ defensive charge, recording five total blocks.

Senior Michelle Mola guided the Cabrini backline with a team-high 17 digs. Martin contributed eight digs.

The Cavaliers jumped to a one-set advantage with a 25-20 victory in game one. Williams tallied nine assists and Doss posted four kills in the win.

Cabrini (22-13) secured a 2-0 cushion with a narrow 25-23 triumph in game two. The Cavaliers put away the Mustangs with a 25-22 victory in the third game.

Stevenson’s 2008 season comes to a close after winning 32 matches overall.

Penn State advanced to the title match following a 3-0 victory against Widener University.

Alyssa Brady
Basketball (Women)

Senior combo guard Alyssa Brady has received the weekly honors four times in 2009-10, including two consecutive weeks.

Brady led the Cabrini women’s basketball team to three wins last week, including two against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponents. The Cavaliers topped non-conference foe Montclair State University (65-54), before knocking off league foes Cedar Crest College (77-53) and Centenary College (68-64).

Brady recorded her third and fourth double-doubles of the season in the wins against Montclair and Centenary. She tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds versus the Red Hawks, and 22 points and 12 boards versus the Cyclones.

Brady shot 59.5 percent from the floor overall in the three games. She averaged 19.0 points and 10.rebounds per game for the week.

Brady leads the Cavaliers in points per game (15.1), rebounds per game (8.2) and field goal percentage (.455). She was named the CSAC Player of the Week for the third time this season Monday.
