STEVENSON, Md. –
The fourth-seeded Cabrini volleyball team knocked off top-seeded Stevenson University Saturday, 3-0, in the semifinal round of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament. The Cavaliers will meet Penn State – Behrend Sunday at Stevenson's Student Union Gymnasium. Match time is set for 1 p.m.

The win is the Cavaliers 22nd overall this season and avenges a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Mustangs September 21 as part of the Baruch College Tournament. Cabrini has tallied 15 three-set victories in 2008.

Junior setter Lizzie Williams paced the Cavaliers offense with a team-best 26 assists. She added eight digs and three service aces.

Sophomore Stephanie Recklau led the Cavaliers’ defensive charge, recording five total blocks.

Senior Michelle Mola guided the Cabrini backline with a team-high 17 digs. Martin contributed eight digs.

The Cavaliers jumped to a one-set advantage with a 25-20 victory in game one. Williams tallied nine assists and Doss posted four kills in the win.

Cabrini (22-13) secured a 2-0 cushion with a narrow 25-23 triumph in game two. The Cavaliers put away the Mustangs with a 25-22 victory in the third game.

Stevenson’s 2008 season comes to a close after winning 32 matches overall.
