Casey Grugan, Cabrini’s all-time leader in career points, was selected in the 8th round of the 2010 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) draft by the Chicago Machine on Sunday at Yale University’s Lanman Center. Grugan is the first Cavalier in program history to be drafted by an MLL franchise.

Cabrini head golf coach Dr. Tony Verde has resigned following 11 seasons at the helm of the Cavaliers. Verde guided the Blue & White to back-to-back Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) titles and NCAA Championship appearances in 2008 and 2009.

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has honored 55 Cabrini student-athletes for the Spring 2010 semester as all-academic performers, the league announced today. The conference recognizes each student-athlete that meets the NCAA Division III eligibility requirements, earns varsity status in his or her respective sport and posts a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 for the semester.

Senior attackman Casey Grugan has been selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro/South Region Player of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday. Grugan is one of five Cavaliers to receive ECAC Metro/South Region All-Stars, joining sophomore defenseman John McSorley, junior defenseman Steve Heaps, junior midfielder Paul Skulski and junior face-off specialist Mike Gurenlian.

Schmid joins teammate Amanda Alexandrowicz as the Cavaliers’ two representatives for the national showcase.
